First Snow

We woke up to a dusting of snow this morning, so of course Camden was asking to go out before we even had daylight. He's out there now, while Griffie and I are inside, baking some cinnamon hazelnut biscotti. We don't often get snow that "sticks" to the ground in these parts, so even a dusting is cause for major excitement.

Now, Camden is back in the house, and as I was helping him take his boots off, I remembered sitting with my back up against the red refrigerator, while Mum would yank my boots off, feet covered in bread bags, in case of leaks.

Camden is warming himself up with a cup of cocoa, and I must scurry and get ready for story time at the library this morning. Our topic today is "snow", which should be a big hit!

Oh my goodness Heather, I remember the plastic bags too under the boots! How tickled Camden must have been with the snow! There is nothing like the excitement of children playing in the first snowfall, no matter how much snow fell.

I had bags on here in Idaho when I was little but it was because my boots had been through my 3 brothers and leaked!!!! ha!

We didn't get snow today. :( Maybe tomorrow.

Love the biscotti. I'm making some of mine this week.

That really brought back memories! Heck, I think my parents still save the bread bags. And I'm almost as old (cough) as Margaret!! :D

Really - you reminded me of something silly and sweet that I had forgotten. :) Thank you - hope you enjoyed your dusting!

The snow was gone a little after lunchtime, but it sure was a great way to start the day.
