First Day of Second Grade

Griffin and I just returned from dropping Camden off at school - - where did the summer go? I'm not sure what happened this year, but it seemed like summer was over and done with in a flash. As you can see, my boy decorated himself with a multitude of industrial strength Star Wars tattoos last week, and for whatever reason, I cannot get those things off. We even tried nail polish remover, to no avail.

Camden was very happy to have received a call from Steve this morning, and a call from his Aunt Kasey and cousin Banzer last night, wishing him well. I think this helped get him really excited for the first day. Griffin has been down at the mouth ever since we returned to the house, and keeps saying, "How much longer til my Cammy comes home?" I just casually reminded him that now that Camden is at school, he can play with Camden's toys, and that snapped him right out of his little funk.

There was no way the tattoo on his chest in June was going to come off either!! Cute pictures. I hope Griffin has perked up. Poor little boy must be lost without his big bro.

Griffin has perked up. We got out a mixing bowl and a bunch of "ingredients", and he was happy as a clam. He's helped me make a loaf of bread, too. I know he will still be very happy when his Cam comes home, though!

Aww...how grown-up Camden looks! The tattoos just add to his outfit! Hope he had a good first day back. Thats a nice photo of the two boys.

OMG those first day of school pics make me want to send my littlest off to "real" school. SO PRECIOUS!! I still can't get over how tall he is. Maybe I'll make my kids go stand on the steps with there back packs walking into the house for the first day of school. LOL

Have you tried baby oil on the tattoos? Poor Griffin-so funny that he snapped out of it once he realized he could play with the toys himself.

I did try baby oil, Kate...no luck! Griffin used the same tattoos and they wore off in about two days...Camden's had these on for about a week now and they still haven't budged...weird.
