Each week, a new challenge is issued for MTM. This week's was "Halloween", so here is what I came up with:
Cheddar cheese cut into leaf shapes, mini pumpkin muffin, "Halloween trail mix" - Kix, raisins, and candy corn, carrot sticks and orange bell pepper strips with Ranch dip, pumpkin-shaped peanut butter & honey on whole wheat, and orange yogurt, complete with a plastic eyeball.
The verdict: The boys loved it. Camden has asked multiple times since I made these (we actually had these last week) when we get to have "the special lunch" again. As for the food - - Camden immediately turned his nose up at the bell pepper strips, but I made him take a bite of one anyway. He also wouldn't eat the yogurt, even though he use to eat orange yogurt by the gallon. Griffin did NOT like the plastic eye ball. He made me remove it immediately, and all through lunch he kept saying, "I don't like the eyeball!!" All in all, the muffin tin lunch was a huge success, and I can't wait to try another this week!

Oh my gosh Heather, you are simply amazing!! What a great (and cute) idea!!
What a cute idea!
Wow-what a great idea. It must be as fun to make as it is to eat! Maybe Camden could plan a menu for MTM and that might interest him in trying new foods..
Very very cute- and I did the Halloween one, too!!! oops!
Heather, I took off your link (gulp) and will post it officially next Monday with a picture. I'm really sorry about the day confusion. I knew this may happen with the day change. Hope you understand. I'm glad you joined in.

Love your Halloween theme!!! The eyeball looks tasty.
I love it! What a great idea. Alex is extremely picky too, but Leah will eat anything. I'll have to try it.
What a FUN idea!
Very cute! I've seen these before on flickr too and thought it would be neat to try. But my challenge is I only have 12 cup muffin tins
(12 seems a little intimidating to come up with that many good ideas)
Forget the kids- I think I'd like to have someone make me one of these..your so creative!
Cheryl, I like your idea. I think I will try that with Camden (letting him help plan). I'll just have to make sure he doesn't fill each with chocolate chips :)
Kirsten - I only have that orange silicone muffin thing...my other is a twelve-cupper too. It is impossible to find a six cup tin! I lucked out and found the microwave muffin tin (the round one) at a thrift store for a dollar. I actually like it better than the tin ones.
That eyeball looks delicious..! Great idea.. Happy Halloween.
