Summer Wrap-Up

School starts on Thursday, so we are scrambling around this week, hoping to get all of our last-minute things done before then. In the meantime, here's a look at what we've been up to.

After a long, hot two weeks of Annual Training, Steve hiked the Seven Devils with two of his Army buddies Cliff and Bud. Bud was Steve's CHU-mate when they were in Iraq. They had a great time and came home with a bunch of great pictures.
The little boys spent a week at Vacation Bible School (along with their cousin Banzer) and they all had a great time!

Then, there was a canoe trip with Daddy....

A first, and very successful "Moms Night Out" at the Yellow Cottage, with good friends...

A little camping trip for Camden and Daddy....

While the big boys were off camping, Griffin and I enjoyed some special one-on-one time.

Back-to-school cupcakes...

And last, but not least, cousin fun!

Your summer was super jam-packed to say the least! Steve's photos were amazing from his hike. I imagine Griffin is counting down the days til he can go along with the "big guys" on their adventures. And good that Mom got some quality time with the girls. You certainly deserve it. Liked the photo of Griffin on the horse! Camden, here's to a wonderful year in first grade!

Girls night out-just like when we went to that condo in Portland minus the alcohol.

The phot of the "big boys" leaving for the camping trip...Camden looks so much like his Daddy! And love how Griffin is "looking on" in the photo...love the cupcakes too! Your Mom has been giving me tips for making Cole's 1st b-day cake...I have been looking forward to this before I was pregnant! LOL

Jenn - - making the boys' cakes each year is one of my most favorite things. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of all the wonderful cakes that my mother made for me. I always just assumed that everyone had a mom that decorated cakes! Because of all the special memories I have, I really feel like it is such an important thing to do for my boys. I think Camden started picking out his own cake pan from the store, once he was two, and it is so fun to ask him each year what he wants for a cake; same with Griff.
