A Few of My Favorite Things: Coffee Edition

Steve sent me this fabulous Keurig coffee maker for Christmas, and I dare say, I nearly LEAP out of bed each morning, just so I can make myself a cup of coffee in this thing. If you've never seen one before, that little red basket is full of little K-cups, which you pop into the machine, select your coffee cup size, and, voila! Nice, hot coffee on demand. I am pretty much a one-cup-of-coffee in the morning kind of girl, and while I realize I can brew just one cup in a traditional coffee pot, it always seemed like such a waste of a coffee filter. I'm sure it all comes out in the wash, but I'll tell you what, I love this coffee maker. Love, love, LOVE it. Even though my gallbladder-less self isn't exactly down with coffee yet, I keep drinking it anyway. That's how much I love it. Another great thing about it is variety. Many times I've purchased a bag of flavored coffee, only to get sick of it after a few cups, but then I've felt compelled to choke down the rest of the bag. I have a nice variety of choices with my Keurig, so I just choose whatever I'm in the mood for. Whoever thought this thing up is a genius in my book.

It's gadgets like this that make me wish I liked coffee.

I must admit, though we have had a Jura Capresso coffee machine for years and years and I love its one cup at a time method but recently saw one of these and thought, "wow, that makes sense". Does not cost a fortune like ours either. I am mighty impressed. If, and I hope never, ours goes to its final resting place, I shall definitely consider one of these. Have you tried any Peets brands? We drink Major Dickenson's brew. I can find it at Fresh Market or Whole Foods but normally I order as it ships the day it is roasted. Is that fresh or what?

Sorry you folks cannot get rid of the "dread germ". Bleach, bleach and more bleach. And "think spring". It shall arrive but no promises when.

Winter still hangs with us here on the east coast.

My husband bought the same one for me last christmas and I think he enjoys it more than me and also my kids use it alot for the hot cocoa pods they sell as well. We also found the filter pod you can buy that just goes where the pods would go . You can buy your own favorite coffee and get the best of both worlds! ( I think we got it for $ 15.00 )Im still a dunkin donuts girl so I am " america runs on dunkin" motto. So ,for you as well your a starbucks girl you can buy the coffee and use it in the filter pod with this coffee maker! Happy Coffee Drinking !!!!!

Susan I have not tried Peets but I believe I looked into it once for Steve...that man loves his coffee. We don't have Whole Foods out here yet, but one is opening in Boise at some point this year...can't wait to see what all the fuss is about!

Janet ~ I would much prefer to be able to be a Dunkin' Donuts girl, but sadly, we do not have Dunkin' Donuts in Idaho! It should be a crime!! :)

Wow, what a wonderful present! I've had coffee from these machines & it's so wonderful getting a totally fresh, hot drink in an instant. I typically use a regular coffeemaker too, but having the convenince of being able to just pop the thing on for a single cup is a real treat.

We have the same Keurig, a wonderful gift from Margaret and my mom a couple of Christmases' ago. I would run out immediately if it were ever to go on the blink...to buy one. I love it!

Love, love, love my Keurig--I've had it for just over two years (gift from my in-laws) and it has never disappointed. Also love seeing all those Green Mountain Coffee Roasters K-cups in your basket--my beautiful little state sure does produce some wonderful coffee!
